September is primetime for all of the above
September Ocotber is the time for following the Shrimp boats and spending time with the tens of thousands of migrating shorebirds. The birds will continue arriving throughout the fall. And at the same time, the seabirds and the wading birds are just winding up their nesting seasons their fledglings have doubled or tripled their populations. Now all these young birds are open mouthed, needing help with food supply until they can learn to be self sufficient.

This same scenario is true for the Dolphin! All these young calves are glued to their mothers sides shadowing her wherever the pod action take them - Strand feeding in the back waters during low tide levels and following the shrimp boats as much as possible taking advantage of all that is not shrimp inside the nets ast he shrimpers ply the Lowcountry waters. Wherever the pod goes there we will find the calves.
